Bands @ Eastern Fare

Eastern Fare (Rock, Classick Rock, Blues) - English

After three successful years as a premier music institute in Bangalore, Eastern Fare realized that it was time to foray into something that was more nisus in nature. “Let there be music” we said, and lo! “Eastern Fare, the band” was born. So, on a random summer evening the teachers and students of the institute assembled in its studio to pick up the microphone and the instruments.

Jim, picked up the lead guitar; Suchin, chose to play the rhythm guitar and Anand took care of the bass and keys and Siddharth, passionate rock n roll lover lent his rustic vocals to complete the band.

Jim, who hails from Assam has been performing since the age of three, has played the guitar, piano, bass, keys, drums, table and violin and has number of albums to his credit. Anand , from Kerela plays the guitar, bass and keys. He makes amazing paintings in oil and likes to breed fish. Suchin, hails from namma Bengaluru and holds a degree in mechanical engineering. He joined Eastern Fare as a student, but soon calibrated to a teacher, thanks to his hands on attack with the guitar. Siddhart is a walking encyclopedia of rock and roll, so when he decided to get behind the mic with his untrained rustic voice, the band had nothing else to do but rock! The band had a female addition when Fahida, came all the way from Bahrain to share her passion for music. Fahida has been singing since her days in school. This multi-talented lassie likes to belly dance, makes spoofs and believes in paranormal phenomena.

Eastern Fare has performed a number of gigs in Bangalore and has mainly covered classic rock and some retro numbers. Their own compositions like “Personally your’s” and “Least liked best” delve into genres like rock, blues and a merger of both. The numbers are already making waves on Facebook, YouTube and MySpace.

Voodoo Child (Rock and Roll, Rockabilly, Classic Rock) - English

Voodoo Child was formed in 2002 when Rittique Phukan (frontman of the band) came back to Guwahati (he was playing with a band called Gaya in Bangalore) and wanted to start a band to carry on his love for music. So having checked on the different musicians in the scenario, he formed the band Voodoo Child and since then the band has been actively playing all over the northeast, where rock music holds a special place.
