Prominent musician and music composer, has composed Music for various Films, Music Albums, Jingles, Video Games, Documentaries and serials in an array of languages including Assamese, Hindi, English, Kannada, Nagamese, Mizo as well as "Goalporia Folk Songs". He has been involved with bands like Veenar, Voodoo Child, Prahar, Four Strokes, Eastern Fare etc.

Jim Ankan pioneered the music insitute "Eastern Fare Music Instituation" in 2008 which today houses over a thousand students. His fusion band "Veenar" with Suchethan Rangaswamy conflating Jazz and Caranatic music is also widely known and esteemed.

About Eastern Fare

Eastern Fare is an acoustic rock and fusion band formed in Bangalore in 2007, now based in Guwahati, India. The present team members, Jim Ankan Deka (guitar and keys), Prabal Gogoi (cajon), Gaurav Choudhury (guitar) and Jenie (percussion), occasionally teams up with different musicians from various backgrounds all across the country to create amazing music, videos and collaborative projects.
